Privacy Policy
Glows Games ("we", "us") makes minimalist puzzle games, including TwinGlow. This policy explains what we collect across our games, why, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can and never sell your personal information.
1. Information we collect
Collected automatically when you play
- Anonymous account ID. On first launch we create an anonymous account (a Firebase Authentication user ID) so your progress and scores can sync. It isn't linked to your identity unless you choose to sign in.
- Gameplay data. Level progress, star ratings, move counts and solve times — used for your save, leaderboards, and the daily challenge.
- Advertising identifiers. Where ads are shown, the ad SDK may access a device advertising identifier (subject to your consent — see §3).
- Analytics & diagnostics. Aggregate usage events and crash reports (Google Analytics for Firebase, Crashlytics) to fix bugs and improve the game.
Only if you choose to provide it
- Account sign-in. If you register (e.g., Google or email), we receive your email address to secure your account and enable publishing.
- Profile. A display name and optional bio you set, shown on leaderboards and any levels you publish.
- Published levels. Levels you choose to publish to the community, shown to other players.
Age
Year of birth. In regions whose privacy law requires an age check before personalized advertising — currently the EEA, the UK and Switzerland — we ask for your year of birth. It is stored on your device only: it is never transmitted to us, never attached to your account, and never published. It is used for one thing, deciding whether ads must be non-personalized (see §5). Players elsewhere are not asked.
2. How we use information
- Run the game: save progress, rank scores, serve the daily puzzle.
- Operate community features you opt into (publishing, leaderboards).
- Show ads to support the free game, and measure them.
- Diagnose crashes, prevent abuse, and improve gameplay.
3. Advertising
We use Google AdMob to show ads. Before serving personalized ads we ask for consent through Google's consent tool, and on iOS through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline — or where required by your age or region — you still see ads, but non-personalized ones. You can change your ad-consent choice any time from the app's settings.
4. Analytics
Google Analytics for Firebase and Crashlytics help us understand usage and stability in aggregate. This data isn't used to serve personalized ads.
Advertising measurement. When we advertise TwinGlow, we use Meta App Events so we can tell which ads actually lead to installs. The app sends Meta a limited set of events: app installs and launches, levels completed, a few early progress milestones, purchases with their value, and ads shown with their value. Where you have allowed it, these are accompanied by a device advertising identifier — on iOS, nothing is tied to one unless you allow tracking when you are asked. Unlike the aggregate analytics above, this data is used to measure and improve our advertising.
5. Children
TwinGlow is a general-audience game intended for players aged 13 and over. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
Where privacy law requires an age check before we may show personalized advertising — currently the EEA, the UK and Switzerland — we ask for your year of birth on the device and use it for one purpose: players under 16 are shown non-personalized ads only, and no advertising identifier is used for them. The answer stays on your device and is never sent to us or to any advertiser.
If you believe a child under 13 has created an account or provided us personal information, contact us at the address in §12 and we will delete it.
6. Your rights & choices
- Access & deletion. Request a copy of your data or delete your account and data — see our account deletion page.
- Ad consent. Change or withdraw ad-personalization consent in the app's settings.
- Regional rights. Depending on where you live (e.g., EEA/UK under GDPR, California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise them.
7. How information is shared
We share data only with service providers that run our games on our behalf — principally Google (Firebase, AdMob) and, for advertising measurement, Meta Platforms (see §4). Published levels, your chosen display name, and your scores are visible to other players by design. We do not sell personal information.
8. Data retention & deletion
We keep data while your account is active. When you delete your account we remove or anonymize your personal data as described on the deletion page, subject to short backup-rotation periods and any legal retention we're required to keep.
9. International transfers
Our providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for these transfers.
10. Security
We use industry-standard measures (encrypted transport, managed cloud infrastructure, access controls). No method is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, an in-app notice.
